The surgery was scheduled for early Tuesday morning, May 27. Ross had previously disclosed his colon cancer diagnosis in mid-May 2025. On May 15, he announced on X that he was diagnosed with colon cancer and anticipated surgery within one to two weeks.

During a recent episode of his Grilling JR podcast, Ross shared that the cancer was located in two areas. He mentioned that medical professionals planned a less invasive surgical procedure, with an expected hospital stay of approximately six days. On the podcast, Ross also stated he was not experiencing pain and felt mentally and physically ready for the operation.

This is not Ross’s first encounter with cancer. He previously dealt with skin cancer, announcing a diagnosis in October 2021 and subsequently confirming he was cancer-free in December 2021 after undergoing treatment. In February 2024, Ross had a cancer-related surgery on his right hip. He also manages Bell’s palsy.
