Veteran claims WWE refrains from awarding major title to Bayley due to her connection with prominent AEW star

Bayley is currently considered a legitimate contender for WWE’s newly introduced title, the Women’s United States Championship. However, wrestling veteran Jonathan Coachman thinks the company would not put the gold on The Role Model because of her close relationship with a top AEW star.

Nearly two years ago, Mercedes Mone (fka Sasha Banks) walked out on the company during an episode of Monday Night RAW. Earlier this year, The CEO debuted in AEW, where she currently holds the TBS Championship. Despite working for different promotions, Mone is still a close friend of Bayley’s. The two have attended several events together over the past months and they continue to support each other’s careers very publicly.

Speaking on the Behind The Turnbuckle: The War Room podcast, Coachman claimed WWE executives are probably unhappy with The Role Model’s relationship with Mone. He predicted that Bayley’s friendship with The CEO could be the reason that eludes her from the Women’s United States Championship.

“Part of the reason Bayley won’t [win the title] is because her and Mercedes Mone, they keep doing the whole, ‘She’s my best friend. I love her to death. And we still talk all the time.’ And as much as I would love for the thought process that the executives don’t care about that, Tommy, we know they’re petty. We know they’re petty. And they don’t want Bayley interacting with Mercedes Mone, the big free agent. So, they’re never gonna give it to her,” he said. [2:30 – 2:56]

Which WWE star does Jonathan Coachman think will win the Women’s United States Championship?

On the same episode of Behind The Turnbuckle: The War Room, Jonathan Coachman’s co-host, former WWE employee Tommy Carlucci, suggested the name of Tiffany Stratton to win the Women’s United States Championship.

The Coach agreed with Carlucci, predicting that Ms. Money in the Bank would become the inaugural champion.

“You just took my answer. It’s definitely gonna be Tiffany Stratton,” he said.

WWE analyst Sam Roberts has also given his take on who could win the newly introduced title. He expressed his desire to see Candice LeRae capture the championship.
