Wrestling veteran Jim Cornette addressed recent creative decisions following injuries sustained at Survivor Series: WarGames 2024. Jimmy Uso and Bronson Reed suffered significant injuries after executing high-risk maneuvers from the top of the steel cage during the match between Roman Reigns’ OG Bloodline and Solo Sikoa’s stable.
Both performers required medical attention, with Uso sustaining a broken toe while Reed suffered a broken ankle requiring surgery. WWE’s decision to showcase X-rays of the injuries received praise from Cornette during his appearance on The Jim Cornette Experience.
“The one good thing they did on these [injuries], they showed the X-rays. They highlighted where the injury took place,” Cornette stated. “It’s good for the business. Makes it look dangerous. It’s not good for the talent.”
However, Cornette questioned the necessity of Reed’s cage spot, noting the performer’s established finisher was already effective. “They’ve spent all this time and effort in getting Bronson Reed over. He’s a bigger star than he’s ever been. They got the splash off the top rope over as death. Why did he need to come off the top of the cage?”
The injuries occurred during what was described as an intense WarGames match, impacting both teams’ post-event plans.
