Wrestling veteran Magnum T.A. believes Brock Lesnar’s potential WWE return would not address what he sees as predictability in the company’s current creative direction. Speaking on the Straight Talk with The Boss podcast, the 65-year-old veteran emphasized the need for fresh talent to revitalize the product.
Lesnar has been absent from WWE programming since his loss to Cody Rhodes at SummerSlam 2023. Despite reportedly remaining under contract, The Beast Incarnate has not appeared in the 16 months since that match.
“They’ve got this A-team that you see week in and week out, 52 weeks a year. Without mixing some little catalyst up in it to stir the pot or get everybody off base,” Magnum T.A. said during the podcast.
While expressing interest in seeing Lesnar return, the veteran stressed that WWE needs “new blood that’s hungry and can get in there and just change the chemistry up a little bit.”
Plans for potential Cody Rhodes rivalry
According to Wrestling Observer Newsletter’s Dave Meltzer, WWE had previously considered adding stipulations to a third match between Rhodes and Lesnar.
A bullrope match was among the options discussed for their potential encounter at Ford Field in Detroit.
The rivals split their previous meetings, with Rhodes winning at Backlash and Lesnar prevailing at Night of Champions. Their last encounter ended when Rhodes lost consciousness in Lesnar’s kimura lock while selling a storyline arm injury.
