Dutch Mantell recently discussed behind-the-scenes details about WrestleMania 41’s main combate plans during an appearance on Sportskeeda Wrestling’s SmackTalk.
“The last time I talked to the WWE’s creative team, which was earlier in the week, they were so drought I couldn’t make heads or tails out of what they were saying. I don’t even think they have really decided that part in advance. They have an idea, Triple H has an idea, but I don’t think it’s decided,” Mantell disclosed.
The WWE Hall of Famer suggested two potential opponents for the Undisputed WWE Universal Champion. “I think Cody does have an appointment at WrestleMania against either Roman Reigns or The Rock which I think would be the best way to go.”
Rhodes and Reigns share significant history, with both securing victories in their previous WrestleMania encounters. Their first Singles Match occurred at WrestleMania 39, followed by another at WrestleMania 40.
The Rock recently emerged as another potential challenger after confronting Rhodes during the Road to WrestleMania 40. Following WrestleMania, during the Monday Night RAW, The Rock promised to return for Rhodes and the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship.
Currently, Rhodes is involved in a rivalry with Kevin Owens. During Friday Night SmackDown, Rhodes attempted to confront Owens, but Nick Aldis prevented the situation from escalating. The WWE announced both will meet face-to-face next week on SmackDown.
No official announcement has been made regarding Rhodes’ WrestleMania 41 opponent.
