Vince McMahon received a $400,000 fine from the SEC for failing to disclose hush money payments, while still confronting multiple legal challenges. The development comes amid ongoing lawsuits from Janel Grant and the Ring Boy scandal case.
Dave Meltzer reported on Wrestling Observer Radio about McMahon’s reaction to recent events, noting the former WWE CEO’s sense of relief despite continuing legal matters.
Grant’s attorney, Ann Callis, challenged McMahon’s statement:
During his time leading WWE, Vince McMahon acted as though the rules didn’t apply to him. We now have confirmation that he repeatedly broke the law to cover up his horrific behavior, including human trafficking. The SEC’s findings prove that the NDA McMahon coerced Grant into signing violates the law.

SEC findings reveal undisclosed financial agreements
The SEC investigation uncovered McMahon’s failure to report two agreements totaling $10.5 million made in 2019 and 2022. McMahon addressed the findings:
The matter is closed. Today marks the end of nearly three years of investigations by various government agencies. These were nothing more than minor accounting errors related to personal payments I made years ago as WWE’s CEO. I’m pleased to put this behind me.
