Vince Russo claims WWE added CM Punk to spite him after RAW criticism
Former WWE writer Vince Russo suggests his criticism led to CM Punk's WarGames inclusion, while reports hint at potential Paul Heyman involvement in upcoming Punk-Reigns confrontation.
Vince Russo suggests his social media criticism of Triple H influenced WWE’s decision to add CM Punk to Team OG Bloodline for Survivor Series: WarGames. The former WWE writer shared his perspective during Sportskeeda Wrestling’s Writing with Russo.
Russo’s theory stems from a tweet he posted following RAW, where he questioned Triple H’s creative direction after Solo Sikoa stood on a table during Seth Rollins’ match. He believes WWE originally planned to include Rollins in the WarGames match but changed course after his criticism.
“I honestly believe that was the plan and somebody read the tweet and said, ‘Let’s stick it up Vince’s backside,'” Russo explained. He added that without proper follow-up, the situation could damage Rollins’ character unless he interferes with Punk during the match.
Punk-Reigns confrontation could center on Heyman
CM Punk and Roman Reigns’ upcoming SmackDown meeting might feature an unexpected twist involving Paul Heyman. Reports indicate Punk could request Heyman’s services on RAW as a condition for his cooperation in the WarGames match.
The potential demand follows Heyman’s recent return to WWE television, where he named Punk as the fifth member of The OG Bloodline. This marked Heyman’s first appearance since June when The Bloodline attacked him.
The situation could test Heyman’s loyalty to Reigns and create internal conflict within The OG Bloodline heading into Survivor Series: WarGames.
