With Survivor Series now in the books, Saturday Night’s Main Event is the next major event that WWE will host. After this, the next major show for WWE is the RAW premiere on Netflix on Monday, January 6, 2025.
That said, when does Saturday Night’s Main Event take place? The event is scheduled for December 14 at Nassau Veterans Memorial Coliseum in New York. This Long Island venue hosted the first-ever Saturday Night’s Main Event nearly 40 years ago (May 1985). The last time the event happened was back in 2008.
NBC will broadcast the event as part of its new deal with WWE, which expires in late 2029. The show will start at 8 p.m. ET and will also stream on Peacock.
Based on WWE’s advertisement, top stars like Roman Reigns, Liv Morgan, and Cody Rhodes will be in action, with The American Nightmare set to defend his Undisputed WWE Championship against Kevin Owens. This is the only match that has already been confirmed for the two-hour special show on December 14.
Cody Rhodes will seek revenge on Kevin Owens at Saturday Night’s Main Event
Things have become quite personal between Cody Rhodes and Kevin Owens after the latter’s heel turn a couple of months ago.
KO assaulted The American Nightmare backstage after Bad Blood and turned on his good friend Randy Orton, leading to a brutal match at Crown Jewel. A few days later, on SmackDown, the former World Champion hit The Viper with a banned move (piledriver), which ruled him out indefinitely.
Following the assault on his good friend, Cody Rhodes called out Kevin Owens and challenged him to a match either at Survivor Series or Saturday Night’s Main Event. Owens told Rhodes that he hated him and then accepted the challenge, with WWE making it official for December 14.
With Monday Night RAW and Friday Night SmackDown this week, we will find out more about what plans WWE Creative has for the coming special show. Survivor Series will create new angles in the storylines in both the men’s and women’s divisions.
