The Rock will make his long-awaited return tonight on the RAW premiere on Netflix, which marks a new era for WWE. The WWE legend confirmed his presence on the red brand show via a video on social media, which also referred to his Samoan roots.
In the video, the former WWE Champion explained how he adopted his Samoan High Chief title, the High Chief Seiuli, calling it the ‘greatest honor of his life.’
The Rock credited High Chief Maleatoa Tunamafili II for this title, saying that he promised to him to ‘carry the Samoan culture with him’ everywhere he travels.
“I gave my word and made a commitment 20 years ago to his Highness High Chief Maleatoa Tunamafili II and to our people of Samoa, that I would ‘leave my boyish ways behind’ and carry my Samoan, Polynesian, and Black culture around the world with great respect, pride, kindness, MANA, humility, and warrior spirit,” The High Chief posted on his X account.
The WWE legend also revealed his plan to visit Samoa soon and said that he would dedicate his appearance on the RAW premiere on Netflix to his ancestors.
The Rock to reportedly target Cody Rhodes on the RAW premiere on Netflix
There is speculation on what The Rock will do Monday on RAW and what plans WWE Creative has for him. The latest reports suggest that contrary to popular belief, he will not get involved in the Tribal Combat between Roman Reigns and Solo Sikoa, where the Ula Fala will be on the line.
Instead, Xero News posted on X that The Final Boss will cut a promo targeting the Undisputed WWE Champion Cody Rhodes, paving the way for a title match, as The Road to WrestleMania will kick off on the RAW premiere on Netflix.
Based on another report by Xero News, WWE plans to have a match between The Final Boss and The American Nightmare at WrestleMania 41, where Cody Rhodes could put his Undisputed WWE Championship on the line.
This match is nine months in the making already, as The Rock showed up at the RAW after ‘Mania last April to tell Cody Rhodes that he would come after his title. And maybe now the time has come for this blockbuster title match.
