Blake Monroe’s first televised match in WWE has been scheduled for the upcoming Great American Bash premium live event. The former AEW Women’s World Champion will team with Jordynne Grace to face the duo of Jacy Jayne and Fallon Henley.
The tag team match was made official during the July 1 episode of WWE NXT. The show featured a segment where Jordynne Grace was addressing her title match at NXT Evolution, only to be interrupted and attacked by Jayne and her Fatal Influence stablemates. Monroe emerged to even the odds, assisting Grace in fighting off the group. Following the brawl, NXT General Manager Ava announced the tag team contest for the PLE on July 12.
This development is the latest step in a feud that began almost immediately upon Monroe’s arrival. She debuted on the June 3 edition of NXT, making her intentions to pursue the NXT Women’s Championship clear. The rivalry with Jacy Jayne intensified significantly on June 17, when, during her official contract signing, Monroe was attacked and put through a table by the Fatal Influence leader.
Monroe has already competed in a WWE ring, making her debut at a non-televised NXT live event on June 27 against Lainey Reid. However, the Great American Bash will mark her first official match on WWE television and her first appearance at a premium live event for the company.
In recent interviews, Monroe, who wrestled in AEW and Stardom as Mariah May, described the move to WWE as the fulfillment of a childhood dream and the “single greatest moment” of her life. She admitted to feeling “a little dejected” near the end of her 174-day reign as AEW Women’s Champion but credited a renewed passion for her career change.
