WWE has officially added a new championship bout to the card for Evolution, with Becky Lynch now scheduled to defend the Women’s Intercontinental Championship against both Bayley and Lyra Valkyria in a triple-threat match. The announcement confirms a high-stakes encounter for the returning all-women’s premium live event on July 13 in Atlanta.
The path to this match was forged through the escalating conflict between Bayley and Valkyria. Tensions ignited when Valkyria took issue with Bayley positioning herself for a title opportunity against Lynch. The animosity boiled over during the June 23 edition of WWE RAW when Valkyria’s interference cost Bayley a championship match against Lynch, leading to a direct confrontation.
This set the stage for a number one contender’s match between the two rivals on the following week’s show. However, the bout failed to produce a clear challenger, ending in a draw after both competitors pinned each other simultaneously. The indecisive finish left WWE with little choice but to book the triple-threat match, pulling champion Becky Lynch directly into the crossfire of the intense rivalry.
The Women’s Intercontinental Championship match joins an already significant card for the event, which marks the return of Evolution after a nearly seven-year absence. Other key matches include IYO SKY defending the Women’s World Championship against Rhea Ripley and Hall of Famer Trish Stratus challenging Tiffany Stratton for the WWE Women’s Championship.
