CM Punk shared a throwback Halloween photo from 2011 on his Instagram story, showing himself wearing a vampire mask during a tag team match with John Cena. The WWE star used this image to make a humorous claim about being the inspiration behind Danhausen’s character, complete with a demand for compensation.
Danhausen, known for his unique horror-themed face paint and supernatural character portrayal, has often been compared to a demon-possessed Conan O’Brien. Punk referenced this similarity in his social media post with a lighthearted demand.
In the Instagram story, Punk playfully stated his case for being the originator of the character. The message displayed Punk’s more comedic side, despite his previous experiences with AEW.
