WWE confirms match between Cody Rhodes and Kevin Owens on SmackDown; Won’t happen at Survivor Series
The anticipated match between Cody Rhodes and Kevin Owens is confirmed, however an official date has not been set.
The highly anticipated face-off between Undisputed WWE Champion Cody Rhodes and Kevin Owens finally took place during last Friday Night SmackDown in Salt Lake City, Utah.
Rhodes came to the ring visibly angry, calling out Owens. In response, the Canadian appeared among the crowd and addressed Rhodes from the commentary desk.
Rhodes accused Owens of being a coward for brutally attacking Randy Orton in recent weeks, and said that the Canadian had interfered in his brief alliance with Roman Reigns at WWE Bad Blood, making this personal. In contrast, Owens stated that recent events are entirely Rhodes’ responsibility and the result of his choices.
The American Nightmare then challenged Owens to a match. Owens accepted but didn’t reveal when it would happen, leaving this possibility up in the air.
