As anticipation builds for the all-women’s Evolution 2 premium live event, a new report indicates WWE has considered bringing in a notable team from TNA for the show. According to WrestleVotes Radio, there have been internal discussions about having The IInspiration, Cassie Lee and Jessica McKay, appear at the event on July 13 in Atlanta, Georgia.
The potential appearance is significant as Lee and McKay are former WWE talent, where they performed as the popular tag team The IIconics for several years. Their return to the company fold would come more than four years after their departure. This possibility arises from the ongoing partnership between WWE and TNA, a collaboration that has opened the door for talent to cross between the promotions.
The inclusion of a TNA team would align with the reported vision for Evolution 2, which is expected to feature a larger card of seven to eight matches. The event is being built to showcase female performers from across the wrestling landscape, not just from WWE’s main roster and NXT.
Lee and McKay recently made their own return to TNA programming during last month’s Against All Odds event and have been featured on shows since. Both wrestlers have also publicly stated their desire to work with WWE again as part of the promotional partnership. With Evolution 2 just over a week away, their potential involvement remains a key point of interest for an event already promising major returns and surprises.
