WWE fans surprised by WWE announcement for RAW debut episode on Netflix

WWE announced the main event for RAW’s historic Netflix debut, featuring CM Punk facing Seth Rollins on January 6, 2025. The revelation came during a special Kickoff Show at WWE headquarters, where both competitors had a physical confrontation.

The tension between Punk and Rollins escalated into a shoving match before Triple H intervened to separate them. Their anticipated clash at WrestleMania XL never materialized after Punk suffered a triceps injury during the Royal Rumble match.

The premiere episode will also feature Rhea Ripley challenging Liv Morgan for the Women’s World Championship and Solo Sikoa meeting Roman Reigns in a Tribal Combat match. Logan Paul made an appearance at the Kickoff Show, where he was introduced as the newest member of the RAW roster.

WrestleVotes reported on Live Q&A that WWE has substantial plans for Punk in 2025. “I’ve heard so many things on Punk, especially as of late, with Roman stuff being thrown in there. But the one main factor that I’ve heard almost all year is that they want him to be involved in a world title match. I don’t know how the puzzle pieces are going to fit. But you know, they want him at the top,” the insider revealed.
