WWE legend shockingly returning to help The Rock dethrone Cody Rhodes is possible, according to veteran

A wrestling veteran pitched the idea of a WWE legend returning to cost Cody Rhodes the Undisputed Title against The Rock. The legend is currently signed with AEW.

The WWE legend in question is Dustin Rhodes (fka Goldust). Dustin recently revealed that he has re-signed with AEW. It was a blow to the fans who wanted to see him back in the Stamford-based promotion alongside his brother, Cody Rhodes.

Meanwhile, WWE veteran, Dutch Mantell, believes that there is still a story between Cody and Dustin involving The Rock that could be told. Speaking on his Story Time podcast, Dutch Mantell said Dustin could tell the rest of the story.

“I do think there’s a little bit of a run there between him and Cody still. Because is the story told or not? Cody went there to tell the rest of the story and when he won the Championship, is that the rest of the story? Dustin could come in I think if they thought about that. Both of them are known since they made this big run off Dusty’s name anyway. I think Dustin would fit right in.” […]

Dutch Mantell continued pitching the idea that Dustin could cost Cody the title against Rock.

They could do a deal if he’s gonna lose that title to The Rock or something, they could get Dustin involved in that. Make him the reason that he loses so the belt revets over to Rock, which is where they want it. But in the meantime, he leaves Cody with a story with his brother.” [From 3:20-4:27]

The Rock is set to appear on major WWE RAW episode

WWE RAW is set to make its debut on Netflix this week with a major premiere episode. While the show was already stacked, The Rock also announced his appearance on the show in advance with a long message on social media.
