WWE legend talks about John Cena’s retirement: “I think he’s been coming to terms with it for a long time”

A WWE legend has spoken about John Cena’s upcoming retirement and said he has been coming to terms with it for a long time. This gives the fans a unique insight into how Cena is taking it.

Over the years, Cena has had great rivalries with many stars, but one of his best rivals is Adam ‘Edge’ Copeland. The leader of the Cenation will be having a farewell run in WWE before calling it a day on his glittering career.

The two stars had memorable matches in the 2000s and essentially made their names fighting each other. Copeland, who is currently in AEW, spoke to Liam Crowley of ScreenRant when he said:

“We had talked briefly when he came back and I was with WWE. ‘How are you doing this stuff, man? You’re having half an hour matches and stuff,’ but we haven’t talked about retiring or anything like that. John’s thought this through, and he’s thought of every scenario and every conceivable direction and all of those things. He’s an intelligent man, so, I’m sure he’s already come to terms, and I think he’s been coming to terms with it for a long time. I think it’ll be harder for the fan base to come to terms, which usually ends up being the case.” [H/T Fightful]

Former WWE star Adam Copeland wants to team up with Christian Cage

Adam Copeland has had a decent run in AEW so far, and one of the talking points of his run so far has been his rivalry with former tag team partner Christian Cage.

Copeland made his debut to confront Cage, leading to a series of matches that enabled him to pick up the TNT title. The former WWE star recently spoke to TMZ when he said he wants a tag team run with Christian in AEW.

“But to be able to come back, run it with Christian, and do what we did, and who knows where it goes from there. I feel like at some point, a C & C tag team run should be in the cards, but you never know. Getting to do Rated FTR. I mean, it’s all bucket list things that are happening now that I cooked up while I was retired. If I was ever able to get back, this would be cool [and] this would be cool and now I’m getting to do it.”

It will be interesting to see what kind of plans Tony Khan has for the former WWE stars.
