WWE May Be Affected by Netflix’s Recent Price Increase

Netflix has revealed price increases across various plans in the United States and other international markets. The new monthly rates affect subscribers in the US, Canada, Argentina, and Portugal.

In the United States, the Standard plan (ad-free) will increase by $2.50, from $15.49 to $17.99 monthly, marking the first adjustment in three years for this tier.

The ad-supported plan will also see its first increase since launch, rising from $6.99 to $7.99 per month. Premium plan subscribers will pay $24.99, a $2 increase from the previous rate of $22.99.

Adding an extra user to a main account will cost $8.99, one dollar more than the current rate.

In a statement to investors, Netflix explained the reason for the adjustment:

As we continue to invest in programming and deliver more value to our members, we occasionally ask them to pay a little more so we can reinvest in improving Netflix.

Greg Peters, the company’s co-CEO, commented on the increase in the ad-supported plan during the earnings call on January 21, 2025:

We believe our initial price offers incredible entertainment value. It’s a highly accessible entry point.

Netflix recorded its largest quarterly subscriber increase in the last quarter of 2024, with 18.9 million new subscriptions. The company also raised its revenue forecast for 2025, estimating between $43.5 billion and $44.5 billion, with operating margin increasing to 29%.
