Roman Reigns has been absent from WWE programming since being attacked by Seth Rollins and Bron Breakker on the April 22 edition of WWE RAW, following his loss at WrestleMania 41 where Paul Heyman also turned on him. This on-screen angle was a deliberate move to write Reigns off television, allowing him a planned hiatus to refresh his character and build anticipation for his eventual comeback.
With SummerSlam set for early August, Reigns is expected to return to television soon to build towards a match at the major event. While a continuation of his feud with Seth Rollins is a possibility, a more shocking scenario could unfold.
Speculation suggests Reigns could make his return during the Saturday Night’s Main Event on July 12 in Atlanta. During the show, LA Knight is scheduled to face Seth Rollins. With Knight likely needing assistance against Rollins’ allies, CM Punk could emerge to even the odds.
However, in a dramatic twist, Reigns could interfere and attack CM Punk, holding him responsible for the chaos initiated by Rollins. This heel turn would accomplish two strategic goals: it would ignite a fresh, high-profile feud between Reigns and Punk for SummerSlam, while preserving the climactic chapter of the Reigns versus Rollins saga for a grander stage like WrestleMania 41.
This booking decision would also accommodate Reigns’ reported hiatus after SummerSlam to film Street Fighter, allowing WWE to postpone the conclusion of his storyline with Rollins. It must be noted that this angle remains entirely speculative.
