WWE possibly planning major return of wrestling legend at Royal Rumble
Mickie James suggested a potential return to the rings after responding to a fan’s request on social media. The 45-year-old talent hasn’t competed full-time since departing TNA in 2023, though she has participated in select bouts for RevPro and IWR.
James’s most recent bout took place in September, where she partnered with Shelly Benson to defeat Havok & Mila Moore. When a fan expressed interest in seeing her compete again, James responded on Twitter: “I think we might could make that happen… ?”

James’s achievements extend beyond the ring, as she received a nomination for “Best Country Music Recording” at the 2024 Native American Music Awards. The recognition comes for her song “Sandbar Sunsets,” which she co-wrote with Sean Gasaway and Jake Hill.
“I am super honored to be nominated! To be nominated again is incredible, always grateful for that and to represent my (Powhatan) heritage & my tribe,” James said. This nomination adds to her previous success at the ceremony, having won awards in 2017 and 2018, including “Song of the Year” and “Best Single Recording.” She was also inducted into the Native American Music Awards Hall of Fame in 2017.
