WWE Producer Predicted Jey Uso’s Career Rise Years Ago
TJ Wilson revealed he texted Jey Uso before a pivotal 2020 match, accurately predicting his career would transform forever.

A WWE backstage producer accurately predicted Jey Uso would become a major singles star years before his Royal Rumble triumph. TJ Wilson, who performed in the ring as Tyson Kidd, shared how he foresaw Jey’s breakthrough moment before it happened.
Speaking on the “Developmentally Speaking” podcast, Wilson recalled sending Jey an encouraging message before his 2020 match against Roman Reigns at Clash of Champions.
I texted him that night. I said, ‘Hey man, good luck. Just so you know, you’re never going to be viewed the same agai. Fortunately, it’s one of those cases — I’ve been wrong many times — but this was one of the times I was extremely right, and I’m very happy about that, and very proud of Jey Uso. That’s just an example of having a little bit of foresight — of thinking: ‘I’ve wrestled them so many times, I know how good they are.’
The opportunity for Jey’s singles push emerged when Jimmy Uso was sidelined with a knee injury from WrestleMania 36. Wilson explained the circumstances:
Jimmy was hurt at the time, so Jey — not that like, ‘Oh, he got the spot because the other one’s hurt,’ but those were the circumstances. I just knew that once The Usos really got a chance, they would never look back, and it happened to be Jey. But I mean, Jimmy followed suit as well. There’s no looking back for these guys.
Wilson’s prediction proved spot-on, as Jey Uso won the 2025 Royal Rumble and earned a World Heavyweight Championship match against Gunther at WrestleMania 41.
