WWE RAW set for major change during Netflix era – Reports

WWE is reportedly set to make a major change as Monday Night RAW debuts on Netflix later tonight. The upcoming edition of the red brand’s show will be off television for the first time.

The Stamford-based company has announced a star-studded card for the much-anticipated RAW Netflix premiere. In addition to several high-stakes matches, the show set to air live from the Intuit Dome in Inglewood, California, will feature appearances from wrestling legends Hulk Hogan and Jimmy Hart. Former 16-time World Champion John Cena is also scheduled to make his return to kick off his Farewell Tour.

With wrestling fans anticipating the return of more superstars like Charlotte Flair and Alexa Bliss, PWInsider recently reported that any star would return only when WWE has any plans for them. The global juggernaut would not have all the performers return at the same time on the same night. The report further noted that one of their sources stated, “This isn’t the old WWE.”

Triple H reveals another major change coming to WWE with the move to Netflix

WWE’s head of creative Triple H recently provided a major update on censorship for the upcoming shows.

Speaking on a recent edition of The Pat McAfee Show, The Game pointed out that television broadcasters have imposed several restrictions on the wrestling promotion’s programming over the years. However, Triple H claimed that issues like cutting off the audio and the screen turning black to censor moments would not happen on Netflix.

“Netflix is a completely different animal. It’s a streaming service. How are commercials going to work? How are breaks going to work? What’s the length of time? What are the restrictions or not restrictions? Being on Fox, if the crowd chants ‘holy sh*t’ or something worse, they take the audio. Sometimes, they take the picture and the audio out, and it’s a black screen. The Rock comes in, and you can’t tell what The Rock to do. He does what he does. We won’t have those issues with Netflix. The ability to be live globally and be seen live everywhere is a game-changing moment,” Triple H said.
