WWE Reportedly Punishing Top Star Over Relationship with Mercedes Moné
Jonathan Coachman believes that Bayley’s close relationship with the current AEW TBS Champion, Mercedes Moné, could negatively impact Bayley’s chances of winning the Women’s United States Championship in WWE.
During an appearance on the podcast Behind The Turnbuckle: The War Room, Coachman suggested that WWE executives might be unhappy with the public friendship between the two wrestlers.
“One reason Bayley isn’t going to win the title is that she and Mercedes Moné keep pushing this narrative of ‘she’s my best friend. I love her so much. We talk all the time.’ And as much as I’d like to believe that the executives don’t care about that, we know they can be petty. They really are. They don’t want Bayley interacting with Mercedes Moné, the top free agent. So, they’ll never give her that opportunity,” said Coachman.
Bayley and Moné’s friendship remains strong even after Moné left WWE during Monday Night RAW almost two years ago. Since then, Moné has made her debut in AEW, where she is currently the TBS Champion. The two continue to show their support for each other publicly and have appeared together at various events.
