Welcome to today’s edition of the WWE Rumor Roundup. Following an epic show at Survivor Series: WarGames and the RAW on December 2nd, there’s a lot of buzz in the world of sports entertainment.
WWE looks like they’re getting ready to wrap the year up in the most explosive way possible. To give you a brief roundup of what we have in store for you, it’s a potential exit from a faction soon after The New Day’s split, two injury updates that won’t make fans very pleased, and the short-term plans for Rhea Ripley going forward.
Let’s get right into it:
#4. WWE seemingly teases another major exit following The New Day’s break-up
The New Day’s split is something that many fans expected to happen on the 10th-anniversary special segment, but no one expected the way it played out. As you probably know by now, Big E’s return was set to see him return as a full-time weekly manager for Kofi Kingston & Xavier Woods until his medical clearance.
Instead, Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods, who haven’t seen eye-to-eye for several months now, finally had a moment of unity – but it was at Big E’s expense. The duo concluded that he “left” them and that his neck injury wasn’t an excuse. But it wasn’t just The New Day that looks like it’s going to be shaken up.
Within The Judgment Day, Finn Balor’s decision-making on RAW left some eyebrows visibly raised in the same room. Interestingly enough, the lack of trust from the other Judgment Day members was visible – especially from Women’s World Champion Liv Morgan. Seemingly teasing Balor’s exit from the group, an interesting statement was made on RAW.
After Finn Balor left, Liv Morgan told Dominik Mysterio: “Dominik, Raquel and I have a match tonight. So can you go keep an eye on him please?“
Finn Balor secured a World Heavyweight Championship match against Gunther in one of the marquee matches for Saturday Night’s Main Event.
#3. An unfortunate update on Bronson Reed’s injury status following WWE Survivor Series 2024
Bronson Reed’s leap of faith led to him getting an ankle injury. The timing couldn’t be worse as he’s having the undisputed best run of his wrestling career and is hotter now than ever.
However, the first major update following his injury isn’t a positive one.
According to a report from PWInsider, Bronson Reed is set to go back home to Australia to have the injury properly diagnosed. This presumably means that he will be out for an extended period if he is going to be across the world.
There’s no word on how long he will be out for. It’s a shame considering how he has taken off in the second half of 2024, starting from his series of tsunamis to Seth Rollins. Fans will be awaiting his return in 2025, and hopefully, he’ll be back for the road to WrestleMania.
#2. WWE planning a mini-feud for Rhea Ripley on RAW?
Rhea Ripley has taken a bit of a backseat in her feud against Liv Morgan, as Iyo Sky is next in line to contend for the Women’s World Championship. But considering how important she is, WWE isn’t going to keep her on the sidelines just because she isn’t in the World Title match or the Intercontinental Title Tournament.
Chris Featherstone of Sportskeeda Wrestling said that WWE seems to have a mini-feud lined up for Rhea Ripley before she resumes her rivalry with Liv Morgan. Considering that Liv Morgan vs Iyo Sky is set for Saturday Night’s Main Event in less than two weeks, it makes sense that WWE would want to keep their top female star occupied.
However, there is an increasingly vocal fanbase who have voiced their frustrations over how long the Rhea Ripley-Liv Morgan feud has dragged on.
#1. Internal conflict on Jade Cargill’s injury status
Jade Cargill was written off television on SmackDown just a week before her Survivor Series: WarGames match. While Bayley successfully replaced her, many fans are wondering what the status of Cargill is.
In a bit of a disappointing update, Sean Ross Sapp on the Q&A part of Fightful Select said that there was a lot of conflict over the reports of Jade Cargill’s injury – meaning there’s very little known on how long she is going to be out for.
However, she’s on the internal list of injured wrestlersand that’s all that appears to be known about the situation. Like with Bronson Reed, fans will be hoping to see her back in action as the road to WrestleMania kicks off.
