WWE set to unveil thrilling segment to launch SmackDown

WWE is two weeks away from presenting the 38th annual Survivor Series PLE. Tonight’s SmackDown will continue the build to Survivor Series and WarGames as the card is updated and one major uncertainty is potentially addressed. New details on matches and segments for tonight have been revealed.

Cody Rhodes made history at WWE Crown Jewel but then was only featured in a video package on last week’s SmackDown. The current Undisputed Champion was also seen riding to the hospital in the ambulance with Randy Orton after he was taken out by Kevin Owens last Friday night.

The American Nightmare is set to kick off tonight’s live SmackDown broadcastfrom the Fiserv Forum in Milwaukee, WI; Nick Aldis announced in the video below. The SmackDown General Manager did not elaborate on what Cody has in mind, and the official SmackDown preview also offers no additional details.

SmackDown will also feature B-Fab vs. Bayley vs. Candice LeRae in a match for the tournament to crown the inaugural Women’s United States Champion. WWE previously announced the following for SmackDown: Women’s Champion Nia Jax defending against Naomi, and Tag Team Champions The Motor City Machine Guns defending against The Street Profits.

Rhodes’ status for Survivor Series is a hot topic of discussion within the WWE Universe right now. It was first revealed that Cody may have missed the big PLE several weeks back due to information released by the man himself. The rumors continued this past week when multiple outlets shared rumors about Cody not being booked for WarGames or Survivor Series in general.
