At the midpoint of twenty-twenty-five, the historic three hour SmackDown format could potentially shift back to two hours. This is according to the latest issue of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter.

On January 3, WWE commenced 2025 with an enhanced SmackDown episode. From highing the two hour mark, it became a noticeable deviation from the conventional way of broadcasting. This shift in schedule came hand in hand with WWE’s final airing of the league before the RAW show came on NetFlix. He dutconfirmed the temporary nature of the extended format during the broadcast.

Correcting his earlier claim, Dave Meltzer’s recent newsletter hints that between May and June 2025, WWE is expected to adjust SmackDown back to its two hour format. The specific details in this information are absent from Triple H’s earlier announcement regarding the extension.
