WWE shows set for major changes by year end: see what's changing

WWE announces holiday season taping schedule for NXT and SmackDown, with multiple episodes recorded to accommodate talent holiday breaks.

WWE plans to tape multiple episodes of NXT and SmackDown ahead of the holiday season, allowing talent to spend time with their families. NXT’s final taping of the year is set for December 19 at the WWE Performance Center.

According to Fightful Select, WWE will record both the Christmas Eve and New Year’s episodes of NXT during the December 19 taping. These shows will build toward the New Year’s Evil premium live event.

SmackDown Taping Details

Last week in Hartford, Connecticut, WWE taped the December 20 episode of SmackDown. The recorded show features Bianca Belair and Naomi defending their Women’s Tag Team Championship against Nia Jax and Candice LeRae.

The New Bloodline’s Solo Sikoa, Jacob Fatu, and Tama Tonga emerged victorious in a six-man tag team match against LA Knight, Andrade, and Apollo Crews. Drew McIntyre’s confrontation with The New Bloodline ended in an attack from Jimmy Uso.

Carmelo Hayes secured an unexpected victory over Braun Strowman following an interruption on The Grayson Waller Effect. The episode also includes a Kevin Owens segment leading to a brawl with Cody Rhodes, continuing their ongoing rivalry.

NXT Schedule

The December 17 episode of NXT will air live from the Lowell Memorial Auditorium in Massachusetts before the year’s final taping at the Performance Center.
