WWE veteran hints at historic return for 2025, and it’s not John Cena
Wrestling veteran Jonathan Coachman suggested Brock Lesnar could return to WWE in 2025 during an appearance on Behind The Turnbuckle: The Last Word podcast. Lesnar’s last WWE bout was at SummerSlam 2023, where he lost to current Undisputed WWE Champion Cody Rhodes.
“I think that he will be back. But Tommy, I think, right now, there are certain names that, when presented, automatically have a negative reaction to them. And I think with what’s happened with Vince and Brock’s mention whether he did anything or not, they would wait until after January 6th!” Coachman said. He suggested WWE might wait until after January 6th for the return.
“Have all positive vibes, and then you bring [him]; they’re gonna bring him back. Brock Lesnar is coming back. It’s just a matter of, ‘Do we wait?'”.
Triple H previously expressed openness to discussing Lesnar’s return. The Beast Incarnate’s absence coincided with Janel Grant’s lawsuit against former chairman Vince McMahon, which contained apparent references to Lesnar.
WWE has no current plans for Brock Lesnar’s return
Sources within WWE indicate there are no immediate plans for Lesnar’s comeback. Recent rumors of talks between Lesnar and WWE were denied at high levels, with one source stating, “There are no creative plans in place for Lesnar, and if conversations have occurred, we’ve not been briefed on that.”
WWE has taken steps to minimize Lesnar’s presence, including his removal from WWE 2K24 video game features and merchandise reduction. The company has also directed staff to avoid mentioning Lesnar in video packages, promos, and commentary.
