WWE Won’t Unify Top Titles at NXT Roadblock

NXT lead announcer Vic Joseph clarifies that the upcoming Giulia vs Stephanie Vaquer title match at NXT Roadblock will not unify the championships despite both titles being at stake.

The upcoming championship match between NXT Women’s Champion Giulia and NXT Women’s North American Champion Stephanie Vaquer at NXT Roadblock on March 11 will not result in a unified title, according to NXT lead announcer Vic Joseph.

Joseph clarified the situation during an appearance on the Getting Over podcast, addressing any confusion about the championship implications of the main event match taking place at The Theater at Madison Square Garden.

Let’s just clarify this now. It’s Stephanie Vaquer, it is Giulia, the biggest women’s match in NXT history. It is title vs title. One woman will leave as the Women’s AND North American Women’s Champion. One woman will have both titles. If I misspoke – which I don’t think I did, because I know it’s not a unification match – if I did say it was a unification match because I was trying to smack Booker for making noises or I was hitting Corey for some reason, then I apologize. But it is not a unification match.

The NXT Roadblock card also includes a street fight between Ethan Page and Je’Von Evans, as well as the TNA World Tag Team Championship match featuring the Hardy Boyz defending against NXT Tag Team Champions Fraxiom.

Additionally, NXT North American Champion Oba Femi will defend his title against TNA X-Division Champion Moose at the event.

WWE has not announced any changes to the championship structure following the upcoming title vs title match.
