Fightful Select reports Becky Lynch has agreed to terms on a new WWE contract, ending speculation about her future. The former Women’s World Champion has been absent since May 2024, when she lost the title to Liv Morgan and subsequently dropped a Steel Cage rematch.
While terms of the agreement have not been disclosed, sources indicate both Lynch and WWE officials have expected to continue their relationship despite her contract expiring on June 1. The signing comes amid rumors of potential interest from AEW and retirement speculation.
Lynch had sparked retirement discussions with an August social media post:
It’s been a helluva career Being the Man for all of you was an honor, being the mom for her is a privilege. Thanks for watching my bio on @AETV.
Reports from Bodyslam.net’s Cory Hays reveal WWE altered plans for RAW’s Netflix premiere, replacing Lynch’s scheduled appearance with The Undertaker during the Women’s World Championship segment. Though Lynch was in Los Angeles, officials opted to have The Deadman interact with Rhea Ripley following her victory over Liv Morgan.
The change occurred despite talent expectations of Lynch’s presence at the show. The Undertaker’s appearance marked his first WWE appearance since WrestleMania XL, where he interfered in the main event between Cody Rhodes and Roman Reigns.
While creative plans for Lynch’s return and potential WrestleMania 41 involvement were not finalized at 2024’s end, her comeback is expected in the near future.
