War Raiders add Final Testament member to management team, veteran suggests
Veteran journalist suggests historic pairing between former Road Warriors manager and newly crowned tag team champions.
World Tag Team Champions Erik and Ivar could benefit from veteran manager’s experience following their title victory on RAW
The War Raiders captured the World Tag Team Championship from The Judgment Day on RAW, leading to discussions about potential management changes. During their victory, Damian Priest’s intervention prevented Finn Balor from using underhanded tactics at ringside.
Bill Apter shared his perspective on the potential addition of Paul Ellering to the War Raiders’ corner during an appearance on The Wrestling Time Machine with Mac Davis. The veteran journalist drew parallels to Ellering’s successful history managing legendary tag teams.
Apter reflected on the possibility of Ellering joining the new champions:
You know what I’d like to see happen? I’d like to see Paul Ellering pulled out of Karrion Kross’ group and become the manager of the War Raiders. Just got that nostalgia, even though they don’t look like or do any ring work like the Road Warriors, I just want to see him with them.
The title change marked Erik and Ivar’s third championship reign in their WWE careers. The decisive moment came when Priest stopped Balor’s attempted chair attack, allowing Ivar to deliver a clothesline to JD McDonagh. The War Raiders then executed their War Machine finisher on a distracted Balor to secure the victory.
The Judgment Day’s championship reign comes to an end
The title change ended Balor and McDonagh’s run that began in June when they defeated The Awesome Truth.
Their reign included successful defenses against The New Day in September and a previous encounter with The War Raiders, where assistance from Dominik Mysterio and Carlito proved crucial.
