The Rock set for limited WWE run through WrestleMania 41
New details emerge about The Final Boss’s anticipated return timeline as WWE prepares for historic Netflix premiere.
The Rock’s impending return to WWE programming is taking shape as the company approaches WrestleMania season. The Final Boss’s last appearance came at Bad Blood 2024, where he engaged in a significant confrontation with both Cody Rhodes and Roman Reigns.
WrestleVotes provided insight into The Rock’s expected schedule during a recent Live Q&A on Backstage Pass:
The only thing I’ve heard Joe, is it very similar to last year. You know, he’ll show up probably on January 6th and he’ll run through WrestleMania and then come April 20th when that show goes off the air, you probably won’t see him again for a very long time. So that’s what I expect.
The Rock’s current storyline intersects with both Rhodes and Reigns, stemming from their involvement in WrestleMania XL’s main event, where Rhodes captured the Undisputed WWE Championship from Reigns.
Netflix premiere could mark return
The transition to Netflix presents a strategic opportunity for The Rock’s return to WWE television. The streaming platform has reportedly requested prominent star power for their inaugural RAW broadcast on January 6, with The Rock joining a roster including Cody Rhodes, Roman Reigns, CM Punk, and John Cena.
The timing aligns with multiple developing narratives. The Rock’s unresolved issues with WWE Champion Cody Rhodes and his tense dynamic with Roman Reigns create natural storyline progression toward WrestleMania 41.
His position on TKO’s Board of Directors adds institutional significance to his potential involvement in this historic broadcast.
