Ricochet addresses claims about Samantha Irvin’s WWE departure

Recent speculation about Ricochet’s involvement in Samantha Irvin’s WWE departure prompted a response from the AEW star. Irvin, who served as a ring announcer, left the company unexpectedly in October, shortly before a scheduled RAW broadcast.

Following Ricochet’s own departure in June, fans began questioning whether he had influenced his fiancée’s decision to leave WWE. The high-flying performer took to social media to address these claims with a sarcastic response.

Who else will make my sandwiches when I’m hungry?

Wrestling veteran Jim Cornette shared his perspective on Ricochet’s in-ring capabilities during his Drive-Thru podcast. The former manager pointed out that microphone skills remain the primary obstacle in Ricochet’s path to stardom.

It amazes me they haven’t cut his vocal cords. Ricochet could be a bigger star if they didn’t let him talk. If he couldn’t communicate with the fans in any way, I believe he would be a superstar.

Ricochet claims role in AEW’s formation

In a conversation with Chicago’s 103.5 Kiss FM, Ricochet made bold statements about his impact on professional wrestling’s current landscape. The former WWE Speed Champion discussed his influence on AEW’s creation through his work in Japan.

I’m not saying I’m the only reason, but without Ricochet there would be no AEW. I’m not saying I’m the sole reason, but it’s a fact.

Ricochet highlighted his matches with Will Ospreay in New Japan Pro Wrestling as crucial in setting the stage for AEW’s emergence. While acknowledging Kenny Omega and Young Bucks’ contributions, he maintained his stance on his personal impact.

Without Ricochet, there would be no Ospreay.

Prior to leaving WWE, Ricochet expressed dissatisfaction with his career trajectory. After an unsuccessful King of the Ring tournament run in May, he posted:

Honestly, who even cares anymore? Something needs to change.
