WWE has big plans for NXT star on main roster, says star
Current NXT Women’s Champion Giulia plans to adapt her Japanese wrestling style to WWE’s North American stage.
Giulia captured the NXT Women’s Championship at NXT New Year’s Evil, ending Roxanne Perez’s second reign. Since debuting in WWE at NXT No Mercy in September, after building her career in Japan, Giulia has been showcasing her potential in North American rings.
In an interview with Tokyo Sports, Giulia shared her future goals in WWE.
I won the title, and singles matches are crucial for expressing my style. The NXT Women’s Championship is the division’s top prize. I want to adapt the style I developed in Japan and bring my unique approach to matches here. The title is a ticket to face a variety of opponents, and I aim to deliver incredible bouts that push the limits of pro wrestling. Another major goal is to make it to the main roster (RAW, SmackDown) as quickly as possible.
The Rock Responds to Criticism of His WWE RAW Return
In his first appearance at NXT, The Rock addressed the reactions to his involvement in the debut episode of RAW on Netflix. During NXT New Year’s Evil, he took time to respond to the community’s comments about his interaction with Cody Rhodes.
Last year, everywhere I went—gym, restaurant, church, even strip clubs—I heard the same thing: ‘Why are you being so mean to Cody? Don’t be mean to Cody. He needs to finish his story.’
The Rock highlighted how public opinion shifted after RAW.
I wanted to give Cody credit, to recognize his work. He’s been crushing it, carrying the company on his shoulders. And what did they say? ‘You can’t be nice to Cody. Don’t drink tequila with Cody.’
Due to his packed schedule, The Rock made it clear this week that he won’t be available for WrestleMania 41, unless there are unexpected changes in the coming weeks.
