Roman Reigns could lose WrestleMania spot to former WWE Champion, veteran claims

After reclaiming his position as The Tribal Chief by defeating Solo Sikoa, Roman Reigns announced his intention to enter the 2025 Royal Rumble match. Through Paul Heyman, he made clear his goal of challenging Undisputed WWE Champion Cody Rhodes at WrestleMania 41.

On a recent episode of Busted Open, Bully Ray outlined a compelling scenario involving CM Punk that could reshape these plans. The Hall of Famer suggested that if Punk fails to secure a WrestleMania spot through the Royal Rumble or Elimination Chamber, he might turn to a debt owed by Paul Heyman.

The situation stems from Punk’s assistance to The OG Bloodline at Survivor Series: WarGames. Bully Ray theorized that Punk could ask Heyman to convince Reigns to surrender his WrestleMania opportunity, should The Tribal Chief win the Rumble. The wrestling veteran painted a picture of Heyman caught between loyalty to Reigns and obligation to Punk:

Could you imagine if Roman wins the Rumble and Roman is going to do exactly what he said and face Cody and Punk goes to Paul and says I need you to talk Roman Reigns out of his match and give it to me?

Reflecting on the potential drama, Bully Ray described how he envisions Heyman’s reaction:

I know the look on Paul’s face. I know what look Paul would use. Like, the ‘Come on! What are you doing to me over here?’ Like, when Punk says this is my favor. And you kinda play it up like it’s the Godfather asking for his favor back in return.
