Samoa Joe made his in-ring return on AEW Collision: Homecoming, competing in his first match since July 2024. The former AEW World Champion faced Nick Wayne in a singles match, with both competitors accompanied by their respective allies at ringside.

Joe controlled the majority of the match while Wayne attempted to gain advantages through underhanded tactics. HOOK and Katsuyori Shibata provided support for Joe, neutralizing interference attempts from Christian Cage and The Patriarchy throughout the encounter.

Joe secured the victory in what marked his first televised match since competing against Chris Jericho in a Stampede Street Fight last July.

The match built upon Joe’s recent return to AEW television, following his appearance on Wednesday’s episode of Dynamite where he initiated a confrontation with Christian Cage and The Patriarchy.
