Update on Rhea Ripley's Condition Following Serious Issues at Saturday Night's Main Event

Rhea Ripley retained the WWE Women’s World Championship against Nia Jax at Saturday Night’s Main Event XXXVIII. The match opened the January 25 event, with Jax launching an attack during ring introductions before the official bell.

The nine-minute contest saw Jax control much of the action until Ripley countered a second Annihilator attempt. Ripley secured the victory after executing the Riptide on her third attempt.

Fightful Select reveal Ripley experienced breathing difficulties during one of the more physical exchanges with Jax. Sources indicate she recovered sufficiently after the match, with no expected impact on her upcoming schedule.

The encounter came after a SmackDown confrontation that left Ripley with a bruised right eye. While currently not scheduled for the upcoming Royal Rumble, Ripley has established her second reign as champion with this successful defense.
