Rhea Ripley successfully defended the Women’s World Championship against Nia Jax at WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event. During a backstage interview with Jackie Redmond and Peter Rosenberg, Ripley addressed her plans for the upcoming Royal Rumble.
The interview concluded abruptly when Ripley discussed the possibility of entering the Men’s Royal Rumble match.
The appearance of women in the men’s match has historical precedent within WWE, with Chyna becoming the first to do so in 1999, entering at number 30 before being eliminated by Stone Cold Steve Austin. Following Chyna’s groundbreaking appearance, Beth Phoenix, Kharma, and Nia Jax joined the select group of women who have competed in the Men’s Royal Rumble.
Ripley’s Royal Rumble history includes a victory in the 2023 Women’s Royal Rumble match, where she entered as the first participant. Prior to that win, she competed in the 2019, 2021, and 2022 editions of the match.
