Top Star Not Returning to WWE for Royal Rumble Despite Rumors

Reports indicate that former NXT Champion Aleister Black will not be available for the 2025 Royal Rumble Premium Live Event on February 1, as his contractual obligations elsewhere have not concluded by that date. Sources suggest he could be eligible to sign with WWE later in February or March.

Black departed WWE in 2021 following his release from the company. Currently, Zelina Vega, his wife, maintains an active role on the WWE roster. While speculation surrounding potential Royal Rumble surprises continues to build, reports confirm Black’s participation in the event is not possible due to his contract status.

Backstage sources note that despite past creative differences during his previous WWE tenure, Black’s potential return under Chief Content Officer Triple H’s leadership remains a possibility.

The creative direction has undergone significant changes since Triple H assumed control of WWE’s creative process.
