WWE analyst Sam Roberts believes Drew McIntyre could emerge as a significant hurdle for Jey Uso’s path to WrestleMania 41. On his podcast Notsam Wrestling, Roberts discussed the possibility of an intermediate program following Uso’s Royal Rumble victory.
What if Jey Uso and Drew McIntyre have a score to settle on the way to WrestleMania? Because we still have a long time before WrestleMania. I think we got plenty of time to tell one Jey Uso story before we really get to the meat of what the Gunther story could be.
The potential confrontation gains additional context from Uso’s recent victory over McIntyre on the Netflix premiere episode of Raw. When addressing critics of his Royal Rumble triumph during an appearance on The Pat McAfee Show, Uso delivered a direct message.
That’s them, Uce. That’s their opinion. You don’t strap my boots every week, you’re not on the road like I am every week. All the bumps, handshakes, don’t nobody see all the early flights, rental cars. We ain’t traveling with security guards around me. I’m in the trenches like everybody else, man. I don’t pay no mind to that, Uce. If anything, I don’t need none of that, Uce. I’m just gonna focus right here, tunnel vision. You can either hop on the train or get off the train. There’s a lot of haters out there, Uce. They talk it because they can’t walk it. So I’m just excited, bro. In all on a positive part. I never thought I would be at this level, but now I’m here. I’m here, and I got places to go to. Yeet.
Jey Uso earned his WrestleMania 41 championship opportunity by eliminating John Cena to win the 2025 Men’s Royal Rumble match.
