Penta opened up about his WWE journey during an appearance on INSIGHT with Chris Van Vliet. The conversation turned to comparisons between himself and WWE Hall of Famer Rey Mysterio, with Penta expressing his desire to carve out his own unique path.
During the interview, Penta addressed the parallels drawn between himself and Mysterio:
I don’t want to be the next Rey Mysterio, I want to be the first Penta El Zero Miedo in WWE because Rey Mysterio has my respect. Rey Mysterio is the legend, Rey Mysterio is my role model but I want to be the first Penta because my style is very different, my style in the ring is different to Rey Mysterio’s. Rey Mysterio inspired me of course.
Penta has already demonstrated his in-ring capabilities through notable matches with Chad Gable and Ludwig Kaiser on RAW. His recent debut at the Royal Rumble Premium Live Event marked another milestone in his WWE career. Current patterns suggest a potential interaction with Intercontinental Champion Bron Breakker following their recent confrontations on RAW.
Penta Reveals Dream Matches
During the same interview, Penta revealed several dream opponents he hopes to face in WWE. The luchador shared his aspirations for high-profile matchups, highlighting John Cena and Finn Balor as particularly desired opponents.
I have a few names, but the truth is, no matter who is in the ring, no matter what he won, I want to win everything in WWE. John Cena, Punk, Cody, Seth Rollins, The Tribal Chief [Roman Reigns], [Jacob] Fatu. A lot of wrestlers I want for Penta. Because for example with CM Punk I had one match, he won, I need revenge. The rematch with him — with Cody too. But for me, a special dream match is Penta vs. John Cena or Penta vs. Finn Balor.
