New Wave of WWE Releases Could Reunite Former Faction in AEW

WWE will not renew Sonya Deville’s contract, allowing her to explore opportunities without a 90-day non-compete clause. This development opens the possibility of her joining AEW, where she could reunite with former Absolution stablemate Saraya.

Saraya spoke with TMZ about her current status in AEW.

My contract is up with AEW in September, so I don’t know. Maybe I’ll stay with them, maybe not, I don’t know.

Mandy Rose, who was also part of Absolution in WWE, has not competed since dropping the NXT Women’s Championship to Roxanne Perez in December 2022. She addressed the possibility of joining AEW during an interview last year.

There’s no reason I’m not there [AEW]. I just haven’t decided on if I’m returning to wrestling right now. Never say never. I don’t know exactly, but you guys will be the first ones to know.

A potential reunion of Absolution in AEW could provide new storyline opportunities for Saraya, who teams with Harley Cameron. The group could strengthen the women’s division, leading to potential matches against competitors like Mercedes Moné.
