Stevie Richards criticized Gunther’s run as WWE World Heavyweight Champion on The Stevie Richards Show. The former WWE star questioned the current champion’s position compared to his record-breaking Intercontinental Championship reign.
They have not elevated Gunther. They haven’t done anything with Gunther. Think about it, he was for a while with that Intercontinental Title belt, really over with that. At the beginning of the world title reign, you hoped it would be something where he would be that champion to be on the level of the WWE one, I don’t think that he is.
Gunther won the World Heavyweight Championship from Damian Priest at SummerSlam and has since defended against Randy Orton, Sami Zayn, Damian Priest, and Jey Uso. Following his Royal Rumble victory, Jey Uso will challenge Gunther at WrestleMania 41.
