Important Update on WWE’s Plans for Jey Uso
Royal Rumble winner Jey Uso officially challenges World Heavyweight Champion Gunther for WrestleMania 41 following a violent confrontation on Raw.

Jey Uso has officially selected Gunther as his WrestleMania 41 opponent after a physical altercation on RAW. The World Heavyweight Champion launched a vicious assault during Uso’s entrance, culminating in a Powerbomb on the ring.
According to Fightful Select, WWE had planned for Jey Uso to win the Men’s Royal Rumble match well in advance of the premium live event. The report reveals that creative plans initially included a potential match between Gunther and Uso at Saturday Night’s Main Event, where the Ring General emerged victorious.
Despite absorbing the brutal attack on RAW, Jey Uso demonstrated his resilience by proceeding with his championship match challenge, setting the stage for their clash at WrestleMania 41.

It was very quick. I was in a circle talking to people. He came to [shake] everyone’s hand. He shook my hand. But the thing was, when he walked away, all the girls were like, ‘Oh my gosh.’ I’m like, ‘Shh, shh, He’s married, be respectful.’ And that was it. That was nice, and it was great because breaking the ice and you know, we just both happened to be back at the same time. It’s a good feeling.

Former WWE Star Now in AEW Rejects Notion of Being Demoted in Final Days with Company
Former WWE superstar Ricochet explains during a recent interview with Adrian Hernandez that he viewed his WWE Speed Championship role as an opportunity rather than a downgrade.

Ricochet expressed no negative feelings about being crowned the first-ever WWE Speed Champion during his final months with the company. The now-AEW wrestler addressed the topic in a recent interview with Adrian Hernandez.
Some fans had viewed the booking decision as a potential downgrade for Ricochet, who had rarely appeared on television since his loss to Logan Paul at SummerSlam 2023. However, the high-flying performer maintained a positive perspective on the opportunity.
No… You got to look at everything as an opportunity and if you don’t, then I think you’re already kind of defeated. You have to look at everything — especially, you know, they were putting something into this and I wanted to be a part of, again, building something. Building something and making it as big as possible. I like that feeling and so, again, any opportunity you get, you gotta strike and that’s kind of the way I see it and that’s with everything. Life, wrestling, everything.
Ricochet had previously held the Intercontinental Championship during his six-year WWE tenure before departing for AEW.
In a separate interview late last year, Ricochet made a notable claim about his impact on the wrestling industry. The high-flyer suggested AEW as an entity would not exist without his work on the independent scene.
While he acknowledged he wasn’t solely responsible for the promotion’s creation, Ricochet stated he played a significant role in establishing the foundation for All Elite Wrestling.
