Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods addressed their attack on Rey Mysterio during Raw, with Kingston highlighting his WWE tenure and accomplishments. Kingston pointed out that, unlike Mysterio who had left the company at times, he maintained a constant presence and deserved the locker room leadership role.
It could have been a lot worse for Rey, and everyone should be thankful that we showed him mercy.
Xavier Woods added his perspective on the situation.
You should be thankful that we didn’t give Rey the Old Yeller treatment. We did him a favor by giving him some vacation days he could spend with his wife.
The confrontation escalated when Dragon Lee, Cruz Del Toro, and Joaquin Wilde of the LWO interrupted the segment. Lee made clear their intentions for revenge, leading to a brief brawl that sent The New Day retreating from the ring.
