WWE announced that Tiffany Stratton will compete against Candice LeRae during tonight’s edition of SmackDown. The match comes after scheduling adjustments were made to accommodate The Rock’s unexpected appearance on the blue brand.
Stratton posted comments about LeRae earlier today, referring to her as Nia Jax’s assistant. The WWE Women’s Champion directly challenged the former alliance member, highlighting the deteriorated relationship between the competitors.
Megan Morant confirmed the match during WWE Now, establishing the first-time encounter between Stratton and LeRae since their partnership dissolved. The relationship between the two wrestlers ended after Stratton successfully cashed in her Money in the Bank contract on Jax, capturing the WWE Women’s Championship.
The title change occurred last month when Stratton capitalized on her guaranteed championship opportunity, defeating Jax and securing her first main roster championship. This victory established Stratton as the current titleholder heading into WrestleMania season.
Charlotte Flair emerged victorious in the Women’s Royal Rumble Match earlier this month, outlasting 29 other competitors. Following her triumph, Flair selected Stratton as her championship opponent for WrestleMania 41, setting up the premium live event confrontation between the two competitors.
