The Miz’s search for a tag team partner culminated in his first match alongside Carmelo Hayes on SmackDown. Following unsuccessful attempts to align with both A-Town Down Under and Andrade, The Miz pitched the team name “Melo Don’t Miz” to Hayes over recent weeks.
Despite visible communication issues during their entrance, Hayes and The Miz displayed cohesion in the ring against R-Truth and LA Knight. The new pairing debuted a combination finisher, merging Hayes’ First-48 with The Miz’s Skull Crushing Finale.
United States Champion Shinsuke Nakamura appeared at ringside during the match, attacking LA Knight to facilitate Hayes and The Miz’s victory.
The win marks their first success as a team since The Miz’s transfer to SmackDown during the recent roster changes.
