WWE Criticized for How They Are Treating The Rock

The Rock’s February 21st SmackDown appearance, where he requested Cody Rhodes’ “soul” and suggested a relationship change between them, has drawn analysis from former WWE head writer Vince Russo on BroDown.

My take away from this show was, bro, are they really and honestly going to make The Rock mean nothing? Like seriously? Because I got to tell you, bro, listen, I worked with the dude for years and years.

Russo, highlighting his extensive history working with The Rock, expressed concerns about the segment’s direction and execution.

This is the worst Rock in-ring promo I think I ever saw. It really had nothing to do with his performance. It had to do with the subject matter. It had to do with the angle. It had to do with what the hell they were talking about because I walked away.

During the segment, The Rock addressed his past rivalry with Rhodes, revealing they had become friends, before presenting Rhodes with a choice regarding his championship status.
