Liv Morgan and Raquel Rodriguez captured the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championships by defeating Bianca Belair and Naomi in the main event of Monday Night RAW on February 24. The title change marks a significant shift in the women’s division heading toward WrestleMania 41.
According to PWInsider, WWE planned this championship change well in advance, positioning Morgan and Rodriguez for a major push following the conclusion of Morgan’s storyline with Rhea Ripley. Backstage sources revealed company officials were particularly pleased with the audience reaction and match quality, especially considering its prominence as the show’s main event.
The decisive moments came after Belair was sent crashing onto the announce table and Naomi executed a dive onto Rodriguez outside the ring. Morgan nearly secured victory with a close two-count before Naomi rallied with a Rear View. The match’s turning point occurred when Dominik Mysterio’s interference distracted Naomi, allowing Rodriguez to prevent a split-legged moonsault attempt and giving Morgan the opening to pin Naomi for the win.
WWE plans to maintain Morgan and Rodriguez as a cornerstone tag team through WrestleMania season. Their positioning as a dominant force in the women’s tag division suggests sustained focus on this championship, though several potential challengers could soon emerge to test their reign.
