WWE legend Randy Orton may soon resurrect his most dangerous banned move, according to wrestling analyst Bill Apter. The 14-time world champion recently returned at Elimination Chamber after a lengthy absence due to an injury inflicted by Kevin Owens.
During a recent interview, NWA Hall of Famer Bill Apter stated his belief that Orton will bring back the notorious punt kick that once defined his “Legend Killer” persona. The devastating move, which was phased out of Orton’s arsenal years ago due to its extreme portrayal, was teased during Orton’s recent appearance when security prevented him from executing it.
When asked if Orton would revive the punt kick, Apter responded confidently.
I do.
The veteran analyst elaborated on when fans might witness the move’s return, suggesting WWE has a specific timeline for its reintroduction.
Saving it for his official return [match] versus Owens probably.
The potential return of the punt kick represents a significant character development for Orton. During his 2009 run, the move was portrayed as particularly devastating, with storylines showing opponents sidelined for months after receiving it. This incarnation of “The Viper” was considered one of his most ruthless and dangerous.
Orton has been absent from WWE for an extended period after Kevin Owens put him out of action. His Elimination Chamber appearance signaled not just a physical return, but potentially a character evolution back to his most vicious form as he seeks retribution against Owens.
